Our founder and president said it all when he told us that "Optechs is about adding value and making a positive difference".

We take this statement seriously. We strive to add value to every encounter we have with our customers and we seek to make a positive difference in each individual and company we have the good fortune to serve.

Optechs was founded in 1998 by Gary Smith, a successful businessman and enterpreneur. Gary had developed a reputation for being an excellent business leader and had a strong track record in driving organizations to new levels of achievement. As a by-product of growing several manufacturing businesses, Gary developed a business model that he began using to teach the secrets of business success to local business owners, management teams, and individuals. This business model, now referred to as the Optechs Model was the beginning of our company, and it is one of the cornerstones upon which our business is established.

Gary named our company Optimum Performance Technologies because:

• His vision was to create an organization that would help businesses and individuals achieve Optimum levels of Performance;
• He was committed to staying on the leading edge of personal and business development Technology.

Now in our ninth year, we offer a wide variety of services to our customers, including consulting, training, and personal coaching. We are also developing a fine line of audio training products and books that will be available starting in 2007.

Gary Smith is a consultant, seminar leader, professional speaker, coach on personal and business development and operations, and our founder and president.

Gary shares his expertise and professionalism with our clients and offers over 30 years of experience as a problem solver and visionary leader. People are inspired and motivated by Gary's insights in the areas of human behavior and business dynamics. He has a keen ability to simplify, communicate, and apply effective strategies for creating positive, profitable, lasting results. Gary combines the elements of entertainment, education, and empowerment to lead the way to optimized performance.

Gary is an accomplished business professional with 30+ years of technical and executive experience with some of the world's most prestigious and innovative companies. For many years, Gary worked in key positions, from Project Manager to Vice President and General Manager, increasing productivity, performance, and profits at all organizational levels. His industry background is diverse and includes such organizations as Caterpillar Tractor Company, Pitney Bowes, Ethyl Corporation, Johnson and Johnson, and Becton Dickinson and Company.

Gary received his BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Technology from Brigham Young University and his MBA in Operations Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
